In the twilight of her life, a 13-15-year-old dog named Nicky found herself alone at a busy California animal control agency. The elderly dog was in poor condition – in fact, she was barely able to walk. One would assume that Nicky’s family would have cherished each and every last moment with their pet, but sadly that was not Nicky’s reality.
On Tuesday afternoon, Nicky’s life changed.
“RESCUED BY Leave No Paws Behind, Inc. LOOK WHO WE HAVE Her name is Nicky, at 14-15 years old, she was abandoned by the only humans she ever loved at a time when she needed them the most. It is very clear by her emaciated and weak little frame that she has some major and possibly end of life, medical issues going on HOWEVER she is now safe and has now left the shelter bldg.
Nicky is now on board the LNPB Freedom ride to The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks. She knows she is safe, no longer alone, loved and no matter what, today she knows her life matters.”

When my elderly dog got to the point he wouldn’t eat and couldn’t walk we took him to be gently put to sleep. We were with him to the end. We petted him until he peacefully fell to sleep for the last time. This dog deserved nothing less for the love and companionship she provided to the POS that just abandoned her. I hope the owners rot in hell!
