Near McAllen, Texas, in an area where families struggle to survive, an emaciated, blind dog painfully wandered along a lonely, dirt road scrounging to survive. As starvation closed in on him, he stumbled and whimpered; he was so hungry, but he couldn’t see to even help himself.

“Is this what it’s come to; this dog truly looks like a piece of garbage,” asked Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of the non profit animal welfare organization, Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, who stepped up to help. “He’s a living being with a soul.”

“We named him Argento, and HE IS NOT GARBAGE.”

And that was nearly two weeks ago. Just two days after Argento’s rescue, emergency surgery was performed to repair his two ruptured eyes. Severe neglect and starvation caused this young dog’s pain and suffering, but expert care, compassion and hope have made the difference.

On Saturday, Argento’s medical update showed a positive outcome.

“Happy Saturday from Argento
His eyesight is coming back slowly
Prayers Needed
He remains at our San Antonio Vet Partner receiving treatment.”

Pet Rescue Report will continue to follow this pup’s progress. Many thanks for the help. Many thanks to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC who help these severe cases.
