Two teens electrocuted trying to rescue dog in canal

Two teenagers were electrocuted on Monday trying to rescue a dog in a Solano Irrigation District Canal in California. The youths either grabbed or touched an electrical source according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.

The Mercury News reports both victims were found unresponsive and were transported to the Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center. One youth has been reported to have died.

The dog was taken by Solano County Animal Control to be treated.

Updates to follow. The victims names have not been released at this time pending notification of their families.
