In Houston, Texas, two tiny senior Chihuahuas need help. The bonded pair were seized by authorities after their owner was found deceased in their home. Their whole world has changed – once a family unit with a loving human to take care of them and now locked away in a shelter cage at the Houston County Animal Shelter.

Both are seniors and can be seen shivering in fear and confusion. Each weigh only five pounds; the white one has no teeth. One of the dogs is 10-years-old;  the other is 12-years of age. Both have tested negative for heart worms.

Share their plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Make sure to reference A536998 and A537000. Be the voices for those who cannot speak.

Both dogs are currently at the Harris County Animal Shelter located at 612 Canino Road in Houston. Phone: 281.999.3191.

  1. OMG: I am crying as I write this…….. those poor precious little treasures. If they were in Northern California, I would say, “bring them over ASAP”…… always room for a senior…… seniors are the best pets…… already trained, know that you saved them, so they show their love as often as possible…..

How would we get them to CA? Is that even possible?

These poor furbabies…… Absolutely disgusting……. How can someone do this and still like what they see in the mirror looking back at them??? Of course the relatives took everything that was of value in the house……

It’s absolutely heartbreaking how awful and callous some individuals can be to defenseless animals…… who were supposed to be treated as treasured family members……

I can’t understand how anyone would abandon a treasured senior family member……. How can anyone be so cruel to a loving family member when they are most in need of love and support??? Precious Treasures, your lives matter, I am very sorry that you were failed so horribly by your human’s relatives……..

I would give anything to have had more time with our treasured MacKitty…… Our precious furbabies are family members and are with us forever (from adoption day to their last breaths of life)…….. Whilst I hate seeing senior treasures in a shelter (@ least they are in a place that is protected from predators, fed, watered, and hopefully rehomed), they have a chance for a new furever home, where they will be treasured family members…….

It is tragic to think of them dying in the shelter alone, afraid and worst of all unloved……

I hope that a local rescue can save these 2 brothers…… what a tragic, heartbreaking situation……

  2. ONE Can ONLY HOPE AND PRAY FOR THESE TWO!!!!! HARRIS COUNTY ESPECIALLY ( The Whole STATE of TEXAS for that Matter Has Little REGARD for These types of Poor Misplaced Animals!! Their Owner Would Be So Sad that This is what has become of their Little Companions!!! I am Heart Sick!!!
