Twists and turns - fire dog back with owner

Twists and turns lead Tank back to owner after family killed in fire

On Wednesday, a Virginia animal shelter issued a sad plea on behalf of a dog named Tank who lost his home and family in a devastating fire. Since that post, a shocking and unexpected twist has come about and Tank is back home.

How you might ask, is that possible? Was his family not killed in a fire? The Humane Society of Amherst County explains:

Tank is back with his original owner!
There are too many twists and turns in Tanks life to describe them all but we pieced them all together.

Adding:

The short version is that Tank’s original owner lived in the trailer where the fire took place. The owner moved to Lynchburg and after some other moves took place, Tank ended up staying there the last couple of years or more, where the fire took place.
So he did lose his whole family but the original owner was tracked down through a microchip.

The original owner was able to provide documentation to back up the information on the microchip, and Tank was reunited with that person. The shelter thanks everyone who reached out to them about this dog, and who offered to help.
