A 15-year-old terrier named Casu arrived at the Carson Animal Care Center on Thursday. His family told the shelter staff the dog was “too old.” Explain all that to a confused, blind dog whose heart has been broken. Even sadder, his family was reported to have been looking for another dog to adopt at the shelter.

“CASU was left by his owners because he was too old and they walked right into the Shelter looking around for a new dog. He is Blind, banging his head into the kennel, tripping over his food and he deserves so much better.”

Casu is not doing well and is being housed in the medical section of the shelter. The shelter is completely full, and a few senior dogs have been euthanized this week.

#A5320103 “My name is CASU and I’m an approximately 15 year old male Terrier. I am already neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 9/19. I will be available on 9/19. You can visit me at my temporary home at C410. My former family who owned me for more than 5 years had to give me up because they thought I had gotten too old. But they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I do not show interest in small children. I am housetrained. I am learning how to walk on a leash. I may need obedience class. I seem to get along well with dogs.”

  1. That poor, precious treasure…… my instinct is to want to snuggle him and reassure him that the world is “OK”……

Has anyone contacted Frosted Faces or No Paws Left Behind?

I don’t know who to contact at either group, just that they can (& often do) help with seniors and medically fragile cases…..

I hope a rescue group can save Casu. He deserves to be treated as a beloved family member for however long a time he has left and not die in the shelter alone, afraid and (worst of all) unloved…….

WTF is wrong with people??? Most of us want our furbabies to be with us for as long as possible and we savor each and every day our precious treasures are with us……

This so called family who gave up Casu has reserved places in Hell waiting where they will burn forever for their cruelty…… Do they really think there is a long line of potential adopters for an elderly, blind furbaby???

  2. URGENT–PLEASE SAVE DARLING CASU FROM THIS HIGH AND FAST KILL SHELTER!

THE BRAINLESS, HEARTLESS, SELFISH LUNATICS SHOULD BE
PROHIBITED FROM ADOPTING ANOTHER DOG! THAT DOG WILL BE
    ABANDONED, TOO!
