A terrified pup dumped by her owner found a corner to hide in at the overcrowded shelter at Baldwin Park Animal Care in California on Saturday. No doubt the three-year-old dog’s heart is broken. A shelter volunteer tells Paige’s sad story.

“The first two days she was terrified laying down trembling nonstop. Now she’s found the corner outside and won’t take her head out of it. It’s so heartbreaking how sad and scared she feels!”

It appears Paige may just have given birth to a litter of puppies. Her puppies were not surrendered with her.

“Maybe she’s missing them and was dumped because they don’t need her anymore?,” the volunteer continued. “She won’t even touch her wet food. And she’s housebroken so she hasn’t gone in her kennel cause she’s so terrified.”

  1. Look at that precious soul. It’s painful to watch how scared this dog is. Praying a foster at least can pull the dog out of there quickly. Will be checking back for updates.

  2. Totally heartbreaking….. that poor dog….. she is so fearful that someone might decide “euthanasia is in her best interest”

Well not really (it’s not in a living being’s “best interest” to die due to fear)…… it IS in the shelter’s best interest to get rid of an animal that will take from limited shelter resources to save…..
