A teen who was allegedly in a cruel video which was posted to social media is being charged after the target of the abuse was found dead. As reported by WKYT News, a 17-year-old male is being charged with second-degree cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat following the discovery of a dead dog who was punched in the “viral” video.
The cruel situation was brought to light after a video was uploaded to Snapchat – in the video, a dog can be seen getting punched in the face. The authorities were able to make an arrest after someone found the dog’s remains on a county road near East Bernstadt, in Laurel County.
The dog’s body will undergo a necropsy to determine the cause of death. Deputy Gilbert Acciardo told the news agency that the charges facing the teen are the “most severe” possible at this time. An adult was also detained and more arrests could be forthcoming.
