A teen has been arrested and two people charged in connection with a horrific animal cruelty case which left a dog dead in Newark, New Jersey. As reported by the Daily Voice, police have taken a 17-year-old into custody and there are warrants for the arrest of two other suspects, age 15 and 22.
The individuals tied to the cruelty case, which involved a dog being beaten and burned to death, are facing charges for arson, animal cruelty, conspiracy and criminal mischief. The authorities have identified 22-year-old Kamal Loyal as a wanted suspect.
The crime took place earlier this month near Columbia Avenue and Plymouth Street – residents in the area were woken up by the sound of garbage cans being knocked over. The remains of a dog, burned to death, were discovered on the sidewalk.
