Teen arrested for beating a kitten to death

Teen arrested for fatal beating of a kitten

A Texas teen has been arrested after video surfaced on Facebook showing a kitten being beaten – the injuries from the beating ultimately claimed the kitten’s life. As reported by the El Paso Times, during the investigation, sheriff’s deputies visited a residence on the 13000 block of Petunia Drive in San Elizario and found a kitten who had died from its injuries.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested, and taken to the El Paso Juvenile Probation Department, for the kitten’s death – the identity of the teen was not released because of his age. The authorities were made aware of the animal cruelty case by a juvenile drug court service coordinator who was shown the video by another teen – the local authorities encourage all cases of suspected animal cruelty to be reported.

Anyone who suspects animal cruelty in the area is asked to make a report by calling 915-832-4408 or 911 – reports are taken 24/7.
