Sava, a Springer spaniel was “shot multiple times” in a sickening act of animal cruelty. Neglected and frightened, Sava was rescued from a shelter and is now under the care of Barn Animal Rescue in Newtonards, Co Down, Northern Ireland.

According to the Belfast Live, the dog had severe injuries to her ear and back paw; one of her toes had been missing. When an X-ray was taken, the terrible truth about her past was revealed. The dog had been shot several times and subsequently lost part of her ear. It is not known at this time if her leg will have to be amputated.

“Nothing quite prepares for this when you take a dog in only to discover the true extent of the pain and suffering she has endured,” a spokesperson for the rescue organization stated.

Tragically, these are not recent injuries, and it is unknown how long this sweet dog had been suffering. She is currently being fostered by one of the veterinarians and is receiving the love and care she deserves.

  1. Hope they find who did this and have the same done to him but shots in other parts of his body. Should not be allowed to exist on this earth.

  2. I would like to find the person that did this and shoot them too. But before doing that I would also like to give them a good flogging!
