A sweet dog, born with no eyes, continues to wait for someone to love him at an East Hampton, New York, animal shelter. Papito, a Chihuahua mix, was born in Puerto Rico, and though he is described as a love, nobody has stepped up to offer him a forever home.

In July 2018 (yes a full year ago!) the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons wrote:

Born blind, Papito was found scared and frightened. We took him in with the hope of finding him a home with people to love him. Sadly, he is still with us. And though he has become a staff favorite, a shelter is no place for any dog, but especially so for a blind dog. Blind dogs may not be able to see with their eyes, but they can see with their hearts.

A portion of Papito’s Petfinder biography reads:

Three year old Papito is a Chihuahua mix who sadly is blind due a congenital abnormality. He is nothing but love. He loves his toys and his people and other dogs. We are seeking a quiet, loving, adult-only home for this very special and very sweet young man. You must go slow with Papito as he startles easily. He is very loving and would love a family to love him right back.

Will you please take a moment to help this loving boy find a family who can see past his disability? Papito needs a forever home – soon!

  1. Our precious little treasure Wally is blind. He does just fine playing with my Mom’s dogs, begging for treats, snuggling up with me, my husband, my Mom……

He does need help going outside because of our steps, but other than that, he is quite active (& not obvious that he is blind)…..

Lots of love to share and we are absolutely delighted to share with him!!!
