Update: Flopsy is being pulled by Martina Animal Rescue – safe!

A four-year-old German shepherd, with a severe skin infection, has 24 hours to live. His name is Flopsy and he was surrendered to the Contra Costa County Animal Shelter in Martinez, CA, on May 18 – he has been given until June 7 or he will be put down.

The Facebook page which networks dogs at this facility writes:

DEATH ROW DOG FLOPSY ONLY HAS TIL 6/7 OR HE WILL BE EUTHANIZED

Notes about Flopsy include:

Flopsy, #A0869646 is a 4 year old GSD who was surrendered by his owner with a chronic, severe, widespread skin disease that e was unable to treat and manage. This poor dog has been at the Shelter since 5/18, and has never been examined by the vet staff other than a visual exam.

And information about his demeanor:

He is a very affectionate, calm, sweet natured boy who likes to be close to you. He is pretty stressed being on his kennel and has shown signs of food guarding. Flopsy is a sweet, affectionate boy but doesn’t like too much handling. This is most likely due to his painful and uncomfortable skin condition.

Flopsy is absolutely out of time – he needs a reputable rescue group to step forward to save him and commit to getting him the veterinary care that he so desperately needs. Will you please help? Please network this article and help find the rescue group that can save Flopsy’s life.
