Surrendered Chi goes into heartbreaking panic as her family leaves shelter

What a heartbreaking scene late last week as a tiny Chihuahua panicked as her family surrendered her to  Carson Animal Care in California and walked out of her life forever. When Coco, (aka Itty Bitty) arrived, the shelter staff asked the owner to remove the dog’s harness, pink t-shirt and her collar.

“Sweet COCO was left with her little Pitbull sister PRICELESS because the owner lost her home and has nowhere to live.”

What a sad video watching Coco (aka Itty Bitty) being surrendered. She needs help now.

#A5318488 My name is CO-CO and I’m an approximately 4 year old female Chihuahua. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 9/14. I will be available on 9/18. You can visit me at my temporary home at C230. My former family who owned me for more than a year had to give me up because they were moving. But they said that I spend most of my time indoors. I seem to be good with small children. I am housetrained. I am good on a leash. I may need obedience class. I seem to get along well with dogs.

Coco’s bonded companion, Priceless was also surrendered; the two have since been separated making it more difficult to adjust to shelter life.

  1. SO SORRY–PLEASE HELP PRICELESS, TOO–THEY BOTH HAVE THREE HEARTBREAKS–LEFT AT SHELTER, SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER AND IN HIGH KILL SHELTER! PLEASE HELP FAST!

  2. Part of a BONDED DUO. Sharing.
There was another similar story a while ago. A pitbull who was bonded to a chi. I hope these 2 stay together the same way.

  3. I would take the chihuahua in a heartbeat if I lived in the area……. she would get along great in our little pack of “mini-critters” (1 blind, 1 mobility challenges, 2 “geezers”)……
