A South Carolina woman has died from injuries sustained after authorities reported she had been attacked and mauled to death by her two dogs. Nancy Cherryl Burgess-Dismuke, 52, was attacked by her two boxer-mixes on Thursday afternoon; neighbors tried to save her by fighting the dogs off with sticks and a blunt headed ax.
According to Channel4News, neighbors who witnessed the situation said they ran to Burgess-Dismuke’s home after hearing her scream for help. The dogs had been “biting both of her arms and dragging her body back into her home.”
The sheriff’s office reported the woman would often play with her dogs, but for an unknown reason, they became aggressive and attacked. Neighbors described what happened as being a scene out of a horror movie. When the dogs finally let go, Burgess-Dismuke “threw her body over the fence.”
No one knows what really happened. Often Burgess-Dismuke played with her dogs outside of the mobile home park where she lived. What made the dogs turn?
When deputies arrived, they applied tourniquets to the woman’s severely injured and bleeding arms. She was transported to the hospital where she died on Thursday evening. Both dogs were seized by the Greenville County Animal Control and were slated to be euthanized.

A real tragedy! I can’t help but wonder what she did to the dogs. We have had many boxers throughout the years and have never seen even the slightest sign of aggression.
So very sad for the Three of them:: and No One will ever know Why!!!
That story sounds a little fishy….something just doesn’t seem right.
I agree with u. Dogs dont just turn on their owners 4 nothing.
There has to be more to this story.
