Small dog seriously injured after being thrown from moving car

A small dog was seriously injured after being thrown out of a moving vehicle in Chicago, Illinois. The little white dog, dubbed Bob, could have lost his life last weekend when someone hurled him from the moving car, onto a busy roadway. Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control recounted the cruel incident:

Thrown From a Car and Left to Die!
Last night (Sunday, December 15), about 8:00 pm, witnesses saw a little white dog thrown from a moving car onto a busy roadway. It seemed the intention was to kill him, but Bob (as he has since been named) survived. He was injured, but alive.

After being rescued by a good Samaritan, Bob was taken to a veterinarian for care. There the extent of his injuries were discovered. Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control writes:

The veterinarians examined him to learn the extent of his injuries, doing blood work and taking X-rays. The bad news was that his left hip had been pulled out of its socket and his pelvis was fractured. Fortunately, there was also good news, no deadly internal injuries. It looked like with surgery he stood a good chance of recovery.

The animal welfare agency is working hand-in-hand with Small Paws Rescue to get Bob the care that he needs to recover. According to WGN 9 News, the authorities are investigating the cruel crime. The witness to the incident has described the car that Bob was thrown from as a black Chevy Impala or a Nissan Coupe. Anyone with information is asked to call the authorities.
