A small dog was abused in a senseless act of animal cruelty. The disturbing photos and a recount of the horrific abuse were documented by Cause 4 Paws in Toronto.
Blessings, as she was dubbed by rescuers, was discovered in Russia. Someone had cut off her nose, ears and paws in the egregious act of cruelty. When she was found, local Good Samaritans tried to help.
“Some folks took her to a vet to be treated but had nowhere for her to go so returned her to the same place where she was,” Cause 4 Paws posted on their Facebook page. “One of our supporters reached out and we immediately said yes, we would take her and send money to get her further treatment and to a paid foster.”
“So this is why Cause 4 Paws rescues internationally – where there is little help and little hope.”
And with that, Blessings’ future looked brighter. Despite the abject cruelty inflicted upon this little pooch, she was still kind and gentle to those who rescued her.
Cause 4 Paws blames Russian society and the “disposable” attitude towards animals for the abuse. Blessings will be sent to Toronto for extensive treatment and rehabilitation. Some time in the future, she will be available for adoption.
