A skeletal dog, discovered by a good Samaritan earlier this month in Accrington, Lancashire, apparently ate batteries, metal and glass in an effort to survive. The male “bull-dog type” dog is the thinnest canine that one RSPCA investigator has ever seen.
It is surmised that the dog, dubbed Eric, was left confined in an area – possibly a garage or shed – and he tried to eat anything that he could find to stay alive. The RSPCA is hoping to find out who is responsible for this dog’s extreme neglect – but they realize that it will be hard. Eric did not have any identification on him – not even a microchip. Nobody in the area where he was found has admitted to recognizing him.
Eric is on a special diet to help him recover from nearly being starved to death – he is making progress, but has a long way to go. As reported by the Lancashire Telegraph, he is now able to stand and take a few steps, and he is recuperating in a foster home.
Anyone with information is asked to phone the RSPCA appeal line at 0300 123 8018.

So tired
Thank you, Great Samaritan! Many prayers for Eric! Does this little sweetheart need donations?
Good grief! Did they get the batteries out of this dog? Those will kill if swallowed!
