A dog being held at a rural Ohio animal shelter has the unfortunate designation of being the longest resident at the facility. For over four years, the now middle-aged dog named Quake has called the Pickaway County Dog Shelter home.
But it’s not a home – Quake does not have his own people, or any of the special things that truly make a home, a home. For reasons unknown, Quake has been overlooked and bypassed by each and every adopter over the past four (plus!) years.
Recently, a woman named Rachael discovered that Quake was among the “forgotten” ones at the rural dog shelter, and she is doing her utmost to help him find a family of his own.
She wrote a post on his behalf, in an effort to help find him a loving owner:
Meet Quake! This lovey baby is long overdue for his forever home. He was super friendly to both Jimme and I and we were told he is fine with families with kids as well.
She added:
He has been overlooked for so long and the wardens don’t know why. They believe he is about 6 years old. Searching for someone looking to fill a void in their home! Please help spread the word… we know they’re out there somewhere!!
Quake can be “choosy” about his dog friends and may be best suited to being the only pup in the home. Will you please help give this forgotten shelter dog some much needed attention? Networking is an effective tool!
