The authorities in Yuma, Arizona, have reached out to the public for help after a disturbing discovery was made along a canal on Wednesday morning. The Yuma Police Department posted a photo of a small, black dog who was discovered by a good Samaritan who spotted her by the East Main Canal, in the 1400 block, inside a laptop tote bag.
According to the police, the dog was found after the person spotted the bag moving and went to investigate.
Only a portion of the dog’s face is showing because one of her eyes is hanging out. The department writes,
“this picture only shows one side of her face for a reason. On the other side, her eye was hanging out. We don’t know if the injury was caused intentionally or accidentally, but we do know she did not put herself in the tote bag and drop herself off on the canal bank.”
The injured dog is described as a female pug, who was wearing a blue harness when she was found. Anyone who recognizes the dog, or who has information about this cruelty case, is asked to call the Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421 reference case # 19-52938
