At Downey Animal Care Center in California, Henry’s fate remains unclear. Who would want a 14-year-old dog? How could this have happened to a sweet, old guy like Henry.
A shelter volunteer wrote about Henry’s plight on Wednesday hoping to find someone to help.
“Henry’s story is a worst nightmare for most of us; for death to befall us & our dearest companion to land in a paralyzingly terrifying high kill shelter. As if that weren’t bad enough, Henry is 14. He doesn’t understand what is happening to him, we cannot allow his story to end here.”
On Wednesday, Henry’s status was listed as urgent.
“Urgent – in Medical ward – needs out NOW
My name is HENRY and I’m an approximately 14 years old male terrier. I am already neutered. I have been at the Downey Animal Care Center since August 22, 2019. You can visit me at my temporary home D706.”

I don’t understand why someone would be “happy” to take the money & every “physical” item of value from a relative but leave the animals (who are absolutely precious and priceless irreplaceable treasures)……..
This so called family who gave up Henry has reserved places in Hell waiting where they will burn forever for their cruelty……
I hope Frosted Faces or Leave No Paws Behind or another rescue group can save Henry. He deserves to be treated as a beloved family member for however long a time he has left and not die in the shelter alone, afraid and (worst of all) unloved…….
