On October 21, a 12-year-old senior pooch dubbed “Candy Cane” must have strayed from hell on earth. Fortunately, in this situation, Candy Cane is lucky to be in the care of Baldwin Park Animal Shelter where animal advocates are rallying to help.

And here comes Leave No Paws Behind, a California non-profit rescue organization, who are actively seeking a foster home for this senior.

“I seriously have no words,” wrote Leave No Paws Behind on their Facebook page after watching Candy Cane’s short video and the seeing the condition of this dog.

No one knows how long Candy Corn has had the tumor on her belly. No one knows where she came from, but surely she was neglected. She will be available for adoption on October 25 and needs to leave the shelter immediately.

Check her adoption listing here.

“I don’t have a name yet and I’m an approximately 12 years old female chihuahua lh. I am not yet spayed. I have been at the Baldwin Animal Care Center since October 21, 2019. You can visit me at my temporary home B604.”
