Two senior dogs are locked away at a busy California animal control after being ousted by their former owner’s landlord. The miniature poodles, Penny and Ninja, were taken in at the Carson Animal Services facility on January 24. The Facebook page which promotes adoption and rescue for homeless dogs at this facility explained what happened:

They lived their lives together, one sister may have limited sight and now they are in the shelter because of landlord issues. They need help now to stay together.! Please SHARE, a FOSTER or adopter would save them. Thanks!

Saving the senior sisters

These beautiful seniors are in need of help – they have lost the only home that they ever knew and are undoubtedly scared and confused about their new “home” which is far from a real home. You can help Penny and Ninja find a new family by taking a moment to share this article with their adoption information.

  1. I don’t know circumstances of the surrender of the 2 senior poodles, but if they were support dogs, or if the housing where they lived is federal housing or the owner receives federal housing assistance, the landlord CANNOT evict the dogs. CANNOT.

  2. I will never understand this! If my landlord didn’t allow my pets anymore than I would be fighting it or finding a new place to live. You don’t abandon your senior pets to a kill shelter!

  3. SO SAD!!! I hope CARSON has changed over the last year and WILL be more Compassionate and work to get homes for these Girl’s who have lots of life left and LOVE to give!!!

  4. I pray that Ninja and Penny get adopted or at least a foster for both of these bonded girls. They have no idea why they are not with their owner in their own home.Someone should help the owner see what their rights are and if the landlord can legally do this. Fight for your animals, and others who know the system, should volunteer to help this pet parent. People feel threatened and just comply without knowing what their complete rights are. Hope these girls find a loving home together. They look so loving and probably not any problem either.

  5. Please someone open your heart and home for these two beautiful dogs they did nothing wrong to deserve this please don’t let them be killed so wish I lived closer sharing and praying for these girls
