Update 6/9/19: Adopted!

A senior dog, nine years of age, is losing his home because his owner is moving into a homeless shelter. Stan, a purebred Dachshund, has lived with the same person for his entire life…and now he needs to start anew.

On Monday, Stan’s plight was posted on the Desperate Dogs of Long Island Facebook page:

Stan, 9 year young purebred dachshund, weighing in at 13 lbs. He lived with his original owner for 9 years, and sadly she is moving into a homeless shelter…and she’s not able to take Stan.

Stan is dog friendly, very well behaved, and would be perfect for the first time dog owner. He is mellow, loves car rides, and loves to be near his person. He is in very good health, and will be fully vetted and neutered upon adoption.

Will you please take a moment to help Stan find a new person? Somewhere out there is the perfect home for this deserving senior dog.

  1. Just when the owner needs her dog the most, the dog has to go because she is homeless. What is wrong with this picture? Why are so many people homeless in this country since we are told things are “better then ever before?” That unemployment is down and we are thriving? Yeah RIGHT! I pray that this woman can get back on her feat and get her best friend back.

  2. I absolutely love doxies. Too bad I am in California……. I hope he finds a new loving furever family ASAP……
