For two years, a 13-year-old dog named Frankie has been homeless. The now elderly dog was surrendered to the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter in March of 2017 – since that time he has been living without a family of his own. Now, as time continues to pass, those aware of his situation have started to wonder…will he die without a family of his own?

Frankie has his own Facebook page, with over 7,000 followers, but he is almost invisible given the painful lack of adoption attention he receives. On his page, his advocates have written about his ideal home:

Frankie would love a nice quiet retirement home where he can kick off his leash, relax his paws, and snuggle in to a warm cozy bed while watching your favorite TV show.

Adding:

Frankie would do best in a household with older teens, at the youngest, if you have children. A meet and greet is REQUIRED at the shelter and a fenced in yard is a MUST for this boy.

So why doesn’t anyone want Frankie? He is “dog-selective” which makes finding him a home difficult. But it shouldn’t be impossible. Somewhere out there is someone who would love to spoil an older dog and give him the attention that he deserves for the rest of his life.

You can help Frankie find that person by networking his information!
