A senior dog, nine years of age, is growing increasingly depressed behind the bars of her kennel run at a busy California animal shelter. Muneca, a Cairn terrier, has been at the Carson Animal Services facility since she was surrendered on January 26.

According to the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, Muneca did not enjoy a pampered life before her arrival – they wrote:

She is not doing well, she has been moved to the medical building and they ave Caution on her kennel card. Here is another look at this sweet senior, she is starting to look very depressed. She lived her life outside for 9 years and now she was left at the Shelter. She needs help now, she is super cute! Please SHARE for her life, she’s SO precious and a FOSTER or ADOPTER or RESCUE would save her.

Saving Muneca

What a shame it would be for Muneca’s life to end, alone, at this busy animal control agency – especially knowing that she has never known what it is to be a beloved companion. You can help this senior dog find a new family by taking a moment to share her adoption information, included in this article.

  1. Please…someone in the Muneca, CA area….save this sweet personage. This is inhumane!!! God Bless this li’l Child of God!!!

  2. Muneca is such a sweet , scared senior who needs the help of people to get her out of this place and in a nice, comfy home. She will make a perfect companion for someone and just needs time to acclimate to a new home and family. Where are the rescues for this forlorn animals?

  3. Please someone open your heart and home to this poor senior she doesn’t deserve to die this way even if someone in the area could foster her you will be paid back by a lot of love and joy please

  4. I’ve just seen this post, hopefully dog has been fostered. I live out of area but would gladly foster if transport available. My heart goes out to old or injured or scared critters than would not be adopted.

  5. Shelter staff says Muneca is scheduled for rescue, but this info is not showing up on Petharbor. Does anyone have updated info? Thank you.
