The Macon-Bibb County Animal Welfare posted heartbreaking photos of an abandoned dog dumped in the middle of a road in Macon, Georgia on Wednesday. The metal cage had to be pried open to free him.
According to the shelter’s Facebook post, the owners of the dog could be charged with abandonment if they do not contact the shelter. The shelter director, Tracey Belew described the dog as “scared and angry.”
“… An animal does not understand why it’s humans dropped it off in the middle of t he road, or if me the person approaching it is going to harm it, or what it did wrong to get here…”
Scissors had to be used to pry the dog out of the bent up kennel. Tracy added to her post.
“To the person that did this we just want you to know:
1. We have cameras and we will be charging you with abandonment, if you do not call me.
2. Checking for finger prints is very easily done.
3. You can call me tomorrow and we can speak about this with Animal Enforcement.
