At the Chicago Animal Care and Control, Roxana was surrendered and thus completely heartbroken. Sadly, she was left at the shelter with very limited information; her owner stated she was moving and no longer could care for the young dog. No one told Roxana her owner was never returning; she spends most of her time looking and waiting for her human to return.
“Maybe she had a special bond with her owner – and maybe the owner wanted to seek medical care for her but didn’t know how,” the CACC Dog Transfer Team posted on Facebook.
“I don’t know…My heart aches for this girl. She deserves so much more than the hand she has been dealt.”
The two-year-old dog has a huge growth on her side, and hopefully a rescue organization will step forward and give her the medical help she needs. In addition, she has been losing weight, has an upper respiratory infection and is not eating. It is imperative Roxana leaves by Sunday evening. Financial assistance is available to an approved rescue organization.
Please share this girl’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. We are all that she has. Sharing saves lives.
