A farmer in Rosalia, Washington, is trying to make sense of a senseless and cruel crime which claimed the life of two of his family’s calves. On November 18, farmer Paul Frost posted a heartbreaking of the six-month-old calves, writing:

We are offering a reward for any information leading to proof of who shot and killed two of our black Angus calves between Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning, November 15 and 16! In south Spokane county , south of Spangle.

Frost tells KXLY News that it is difficult to help his children understand the senseless act of cruelty, “Try to explain to my six kids why somebody killed what they call our baby cows.”

He tells the news agency that he believes that the shooter intended to haul the dead calves away, but his dog likely scared them away. Anyone who has information about this crime is asked to reach out to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
