Reward! Abused and abandoned dog dies during emergency treatment

A cruelty investigation has been opened following the death of an abused dog who was abandoned in Scott County, Iowa. Kings Harvest Pet Rescue sought emergency veterinary care for the badly injured dog, dubbed Emmanuel, but the dog was too far gone to save – dying just hours after he was found.

Now, a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for hurting the dog. On December 10, the animal welfare agency wrote a plea for help on its Facebook page:

We have reported Emmanuel’s case to the proper authorities and the Humane Society of Scott County are now investigating. We would like to aid their investigation by offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved in the abuse and neglect Emmanuel suffered.

Adding:

 If you or anyone you know has any information please notify the Humane Society of Scott County or Scott County Sheriff’s Department. Let’s seek justice for this dog who died much too soon and suffered for far too long. Please share this post to spread the word about Justice for Emmanuel!

Emmanuel was found on December 9 by a good Samaritan who was walking their dog. Emmanuel’s finder transported him to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue for care – later, at the veterinary hospital it was determined that he had injuries consistent with being dragged and/or beaten.
