Residents near a lake in Fort Bend County, Texas, are hopeful that someone can assist an injured alligator. As reported by ABC 13 News, an alligator has been spotted in a lake in the Orchard Lakes Estates development with a knife deeply embedded in his head.

Erin Weaver, who lives in the area, described the alligator’s situation to the news agency:

I saw him swimming and then I saw him turn, like swimming towards me, and I saw something sticking out of his head. It looked like a steak knife that was sticking out of his head, I don’t know if it was in his eye, but it looked, if it wasn’t in his eye it was very close to his eye.”

Weaver said that the alligators in the lake have not been a nuisance – at no time have they displayed signs of aggression:

Almost every morning I see them. Never have I seen them aggressive or even defensive, if you walk by and startle, them they just go under water.

Concerned residents have reached out to Texas Parks and Wildlife to see if someone can lend a hand – though alligators are resilient, residents do not want to see this alligator continue to suffer.
