An animal “rescuer” in Utica, New York, allegedly walked away from the warehouse where dozens of homeless dogs were being held and now efforts are being made to find somewhere for them to go. According to WKTV News, Kim Strong, with Road to Home Rescue Support, was evicted from a warehouse on Broad Street where more than 100 dogs were found to be living in deplorable conditions.

Liz Fox with the Nassau County SPCA told the news agency,

“Friday morning, I came in, she said she was going to be leaving at 1 o’clock and I asked her if she was just going to lunch and getting some rest and she said she was leaving for good.”

Strong may have walked away but the dogs living inside of the warehouse need to be moved, and animal welfare advocates are doing their utmost to get them out of the unsanitary conditions. A Facebook page, Save the Road to Home Utica dogs, is working to coordinate rescue efforts for the dogs left behind.

Until that time, the dogs remain inside of cages in the warehouse – the din of barking from the captive dogs is overwhelming.

  1. Absolutely disgusting……. How can someone do this and still like what they see in the mirror looking back at them???
I don’t understand why there was no follow up from the organizations that placed dogs with her for training or rehoming…….
Clearly she was overwhelmed with all the animals and work they required……
Very sad situation and I feel awful for the animals……. I hope they can be rehomed into loving furever homes where they will be treated as beloved family members…..

  2. HOW CAN SHE DO THIS AND LIVE WITH HERSELF?! PLEASE PLEASE HELP THESE INNOCENT DEFENSELESS VICTIMS! CAN A GOFUNDME PAGE ALSO BE SET UP?
