Rescue seeks hospice foster for cancer-stricken young dog

A Los Angeles, California, rescue group is seeking a hospice foster home for a young dog who is stricken with terminal cancer. On Monday morning, Boxer Rescue LA reached out for help on behalf of the three-year-old dog whose name is Zeus.

In a Facebook post, the rescue organization writes:

Shortly after I was admitted to BRLA, a large lump was discovered on my right shoulder. I was immediately seen by their vet, where it was found that it is a grade 3 mast cell tumor. I am currently taking medication to try to control the size of the tumor, but based on its location, surgery to remove it is not recommended. Despite this diagnosis, my attitude and energy has not changed too much. I am still a happy go lucky guy, patiently waiting for my furever family.

 All I can do is ask for someone to give me a chance…a chance at life outside of the shelter, a chance to be a part of a family, a chance to know and feel real love, and a chance to enjoy the life every little doggy deserves. I can’t promise you that you’ll have a lot of time with me, but I can promise you that I will cherish every moment I have with you and live what life I still have, to the fullest.
