Four-year-old Kilo was driven to the shelter by his family. They no longer wanted him. As his life was being processed by staff at California’s Riverside Animal Shelter, his owner turned around and walked away. And terrified Kilo, trying to find solace in a noisy, strange and scary place, only saw his family’s backs as they reached the door.
“They dropped Kilo off for certain death. He is a pitbull in one of California’s highest kill facilities, and he is now formally scheduled to lose his life. Kilo may have mere hours left…,” a volunteer at the shelter wrote on social media hoping someone will be interested in saving the dog’s life before he is euthanized by the shelter.
It seems like some dogs are just destined not to make it. We have posted Kilo multiple times, pleading for him to be networked bc he is scheduled for euthanasia & Riverside is on a killing spree. Still, he has a fraction as many shares as every other dog we have posted. Is he not cute enough? Not fluffy enough? Why don’t people care about Kilo?”

I am a male, white and black Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old. I have been at the shelter since Nov 13, 2019.
Sadly Kilo is not doing well, and he’s starting to show signs of kennel stress. He was friendly when approached, but one can tell the shelter isn’t good for him mentally. Please share him. He is status RED and can be euthanized without further notice. Please share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. We are all this dog has left. Doesn’t he deserve better than to die at a shelter?
