A red alert has been issued for an elderly, 14-year-old blind dog who is not doing well at a busy California animal control agency. Chloe, a Papillon mix, has been at the Riverside County Animal Control agency since August 14.

On Monday, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs, wrote:

Status RED Senior; chronic dry eye/blind, heavy dental tartar and loss, heart murmur not doing well in shelter on euth list

Chloe is struggling in the shelter environment. Instead of sitting in the frightening facility, she should be in a quiet home, with a loving owner. Please take a moment to help Chloe find the help that she needs, before it is too late.

  1. WTF is wrong with people??? Most of us want our furbabies to be with us for as long as possible and we savor each and every day our precious treasures are with us……

This so called family who abandoned Chloe has reserved places in Hell waiting where they will burn forever for their cruelty……

I hope Frosted Faces or Leave No Paws Behind or another rescue group can save Chloe. She deserves to be treated as a beloved family member for however long a time she has left and not die in the shelter alone, afraid and (worst of all) unloved…….

I feel so helpless being in Northern California……. otherwise I would offer our home as hospice care for her. Chloe absolutely deserves to die knowing that she was loved…….
