During a free adoption campaign earlier in May, Aubrey had been adopted, but her new family returned her to the San Bernardino Animal Shelter a few days later for “chewing a shoe.” Perhaps the family had wanted a more mellow pup, however Aubrey didn’t know what was expected of her. After all, everything seemed to be going great – the children even painted her toenails.

Sadly, she couldn’t figure out what she had done wrong, and there she was again – in a cage at the shelter. If Aubrey could cry, tears would have flowed from her soft amber eyes.
