Princess: Meet defeated shelter dog haunting mind of rescuer

Meet Princess; since June this eight-year-old Labrador retriever mix and no one wants her. When a volunteer for the South Los Angeles Shelter visited with Princess on Friday, she expressed her concern.

“She literally haunts my mind … and I’ve said this before … when you dog isn’t doing well and they can no longer fake it and seem defeated … there’s a big problem. They are masters of disguise. When I see Princess, I am DEEPLY concerned about her. She is not ok. I don’t say that lightly.

My name is Princess and I am a spayed female, black and white Mixed breed. The shelter thinks I am about 8 years old. I weigh approximately 72 pounds. I have been at the shelter since Jun 05, 2019.

Why hasn’t her family come for her? Please share this dog’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. According to shelter notes, there does not appear to be any medical issues. She just needs someone to love and feel safe.

The adoption fee of $122. includes spay. all shots, microchip, medic check and a free veterinarian examination during the first week.

  1. What a beautiful lady!!! I wish I could adopt her…… Exactly what I dreamed of (assuming she liked horses)……. I am in Northern California, and have failed to get transport before…….

    I hope a local family can adopt her and give her the loving furever home she deserves…..
