A dog in Otay Mesa, California, was repeatedly sprayed with what appears to be pepper spray, and it was all captured on video. According to multiple sources, the Galindo family’s poodle mix, Pupa, can be seen in the video clips writhing in pain immediately after the postal carrier delivered mail – the video footage spans approximately one month of time.

After reviewing the disturbing footage, the Sacramento Bee has reported that the U.S. Postal Service issued the family an apology:

“On behalf of the United States Postal Service, we want to apologize to the Galindo family and Pupa, we do not condone our employees behaving in a manner which is not professional and courteous. The appropriate personnel and corrective action will be taken as well as training given to all local letter carriers.”

The seven-year-old dog suffered red eyes and pain from the incidents, and Galindo thinks that his kids may have been impacted by the spray as well. He told 10 News, that his children, who frequently hold and hug the dog, have had “mysterious” respiratory issues over the past several months, adding that there have been “Countless trips to the ER and urgent care, and countless medications.”

  1. This has been going on for months and all the Post Office will do is a flimsy apology? The dog wasn’t a danger to the postal carrier and certainly didn’t need to be pepper sprayed. That carrier should have been fired. I know from experience though that carriers are allowed to behave any way they deem fit and no matter how many times you complain nothing is done about them, they must have one hell of a union! .

  2. Not the post office’s fault, not their responsibility. This jerk made his own decision to carry a defensive weapon to control defenceless animals as he saw fit. He needs to be sentenced appropriately including a lengthy time in jail, plus a long parole clearance, never be allowed within a mile of any animal for remainder of his miserable life as well as pay all costs for all parties involved – starting with every cent of medical costs for the poor dog and the members of his family who have been exposed to harmful chemicals due to his actions. Oh, and a taste of his own medicine might be a good idea.

  3. That’s the good ole U.S Postal Service!! They make millions but can’t fork out Vet care or even medical care! And yes this carrier should b fired! Why did he spray the dog in the first place???

  4. And this my friends is what is wrong with government workers. Impossible to get fired!! He should have been fired the same day, but no he will keep his job and his retirement. This is BS!!!!
