Poor sweet old guy: Heartbreaking neglect but help is on the way

At the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control West, this poor, sweet old guy has been the innocent victim of extreme neglect and cruelty. It begs us all to ask the question – how does this happen and no one reported his suffering?

His plight is being shared on the Facebook group Senior Citizens of MCACC. Volunteers who have met the Chinese Sharpei mix states he seeks attention, gives hand kisses, accepts treats and still – with all of this neglect – is still most forgiving and eagerly wags his tail as a grateful expression of the kindness he has been receiving.

“If this isn’t ABUSE, I don’t know what is. Look at this poor dog! Tumors, a horrific skin condition, an eye infection, missing teeth, and what look like bedsores…?”

“This boy will be put down at the end of his stray hold if there is no outlet, and while we understand that decision because he must be SO uncomfortable, we would prefer he know a comfortable and LOVING home before his time on this earth ends.”

Rescue group Pibbles & FamBam is willing to take him, but needs pledges and donations for his anticipated expensive medical care.
