Poor 12-year-old senior came in as a stray during Thanksgiving

At the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, a 12-year-old senior just came into the shelter as described on Rescue Me Tampa -Shelter Dogs social media page.

“A2029031 just came into the shelter as a STRAY. She is 12 years old and in horrible condition!! We cannot understand, we never will!!!! We are pretty sure she will become a plea,” a volunteer posted on Facebook hoping to raise attention to this heartbreaking situation – even worse on Thanksgiving.

Today, the brown brindle Tennessee Tree mix was given a name – meet Sweet Potato. She weighs 44 pounds, has significant hair loss, her skin is inflamed and she is loaded with fleas.

No one knows if she has an owner who has been looking for her or if she was just kicked out of the yard because she was old.
