Deep in the woods of Cabot in Butler County, Pennsylvania, police discovered a “Pet Cemetery” where 19 cats and a dog were found dead in carriers and plastic bags and tossed in the woods to die with no food, water or any chance to escape their living hell.
According to Penn Live, the carriers, bins and plastic bags had been tossed in the woods behind a house. Humane officer, Janice Lawniczak stated this was the worst case of animal cruelty she has ever encountered. What is even more tragic, is this was the second time this happened; in November six dead cats were found in the same area.
Police have charged Tamara Rusz and Kevin Delehanty again. WtaeNews and the discovery was made on the same day the couple had been scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on the original count of animal cruelty. For the previous charge of animal cruelty Rusz and Delehanty had been charged with misdemeanors. This time, it is expected the new charges will be felonies.
The property where the dead animals were discovered is owned by Rusz’s mother.
