At the Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter in South Carolina, Orlando has captured the hearts of both the staff and volunteers. Orlando had been brought in to the shelter by people who claimed they had just found him.
“Orlando was so obviously attached to them and trusted them, we knew that was not true,” the shelter posted on their Facebook page hoping to help this young dog find a loving home.
According to the shelter, Orlando had been kept in his kennel his entire life, and no one took any time with him. Whenever it was convenient, his people would throw some food at him. He is approximately four years old, is heartworm positive and was underweight at arrival.
“One thing we do know …he is a resource guarder. It’s pretty common with dogs who are not sure when their next meal will arrive. He arrived weighing just 62 pounds. He has gained some weight since his arrival.”
Now this happens to be a very smart dog who learns quickly. He follows directions quickly and just needs a helping hand.

“We try so hard not to get so emotionally attached to the dogs and cats that come thru our doors. But it’s simply not possible…We are full again and really need some help. Please send us a message if you can help with any of these precious souls.
All of these dogs need rescue. Adoptions are possible but not for very young dogs or puppies. All puppies or young juvenile dogs must go to a rescue. Adoption Fee is $100.00 through For The Love of a Paw which includes the Spay/Neuter and shots.”
