Gracie just doesn’t seem to have much luck, and she’s barely 10-months of age. On Thursday, Gracie was surrendered to the Miami-Dade Animal Services because she bit her owner on the finger when the puppy began to fight with the family cat over food.
“Per the owner, he was separating the fight between the puppy and his cat when the pet redirected and bit him on the finger, therefore the bite being provoked,” a volunteer from the shelter posted on social media.
And so the owner brought Gracie to the shelter and requested the dog be euthanized, however the shelter veterinarian observed the pup and denied the euthanasia request. Gracie is shy, but allowed the staff to handle and pet her with no aggressive behavior.
Gracie is now in quarantine. She had received her rabies vaccination on June 8, 2019 and was adopted from the shelter just five months ago.
Pledges for donations are being accepted and will go to an approved rescue organization to help with the puppy’s medical and training expenses. Follow her plight here.
