On Wednesday night, authorities in Hernando County, Florida, arrested the owner of a dog who was seriously injured after being dragged behind a truck. During a traffic stop, 58-year-old Gregory Tousignant was arrested for the incident which happened on May 1.

The dog injured in the dragging is a one-year-old pit bull who sustained injuries over much of his body – amazingly, he did not suffer any broken bones. There is speculation that Tousignant did not realize that the dog had jumped out of the back of his Ford F150 and was being dragged by a rope which was attached to the collar.

The dog managed to slip out of his collar – he has been dubbed Ollie and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Tousignant is facing charges for animal cruelty and a moving traffic violation reports WTSP News.
