A Nashville, Tennessee dog owner was captured on video beating his dog and slamming it against the wall in an elevator. Brandon Tynes, 33, has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
Metro Animal Care and Control received a tip about possible cruelty, and when they investigated and viewed the video, Tynes was seen allegedly abusing one of his two French bulldogs. According to the Tennessean, security video footage showed Tynes pick up one of the dogs by the neck while in the elevator and repeatedly beat the defenseless pup in the face. After leaving the elevator, he can be seen throwing the dog into the wall head first. At that point the dog fell five feet to the ground.
Tynes worked at Green Pea Salon; after the video went viral the salon posted the following statement on their Facebook page:
We at Green Pea Salon take few things as seriously as the treatment and welfare of pets and animals. We have been made aware of recent allegations regarding the behavior of a now-former employee. These allegations reference an incident that took place on the former employee’s personal time and nowhere near our place of business. We find the reported actions reprehensible and clearly outside the standards of conduct we expect of our employees. Please understand that outside of stating that this individual is no longer associated with our salon, we can make no further comments regarding the incident. Green Pea Salon will continue to stand firm in our principles regarding the treatment of animals, as we have always done.
The dog was seized and is currently in the care of Metro Animal Control and is reported to be doing well.
