For five years, Scout lived with her owner, but on Wednesday she was surrendered to the Harris County Animal Shelter, and the reason for leaving her there was heartbreaking. A volunteer tells Scout’s story:
“I am Scout and my dad left me here yesterday and I am falling apart. My dad just said he didn’t want me anymore on my intake notes. I don’t understand what I did wrong. He was my dad for 5 years. I’m heartworm negative!
The shelter can kill me immediately because I am an ‘owner surrender.’ I am a girl.”
