At nearly 14-years-old an adorable Chihuahua named “Monster” was surrendered to Lancaster Animal Care Center in California on December 29. He sits and stares through the bars of his cage – wondering where and why he’s at the noisy and scary place.

Monster needs help. There are so many seniors at the shelters who need either a foster home or a permanent home to save their lives. And even though anger runs deeps for these irresponsible owners who have found it easier to surrender their loyal pets at shelters across the United States, animal advocates need to put aside their feelings and work towards saving these pets.

    • Contact shelter – they may be able to give you the name of rescues that will adopt in your area. Google transports – it would most likely be on your dime because rescues don’t have the funds.

      • I am absolutely delighted to learn he was adopted!!! I wish it was to my family but still I am absolutely delighted that he is out of the shelter……. he should be snuggled and have a nice soft bed filled with blankets…..
