Ohio woman accused of locking 2 dogs in cage while one ate the other

In Canton, Ohio, a woman has been accused of locking two dogs in a cage, causing one of the dogs to eat the other after it died. Jessica J. Swinehart was arrested on Friday.

According to Fox News, Swinehart, 25, locked a beagle and a German shepherd together in a cage and never fed either dog. When the beagle died, the other dog ate it to survive. When authorities found the shepherd, the dog had lost two-thirds of his body weight and was still locked up in the cage with the remains of the beagle.

Police records did not list how long the dogs had been caged. No information has been released as to what happened to the German shepherd.

Swinehart has been charged with two counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals – a fifth degree She remained in jail Saturday, held in lieu of $25,000 bond pending a court hearing.

    There is a special place in Hell for this woman. I would like to hear a reason she would do such a thing! I hope she doesn’t get away with just a slap on the wrist. This monster needs to pay dearly for what she has done.
