A dog in Madison County, Ohio was found late last week with her throat cut and her mouth and nose duct-taped. The dog was discovered on Trenton Franklin Road and rushed to a veterinarian.
According to a press release from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the dog was micro chipped, leading the investigation to Heart Rescue in Cincinnati where records revealed the dog had been adopted from the rescue in 2011. The Butler County Sheriff’s Dog Warden is investigating this as an animal cruelty case and is asking for the public’s assistance.
“This is appalling, words cannot describe the disgust I’m feeling right now, we will work diligently to find who did this and seek justice.” Says Sheriff Jones.
On Saturday, the dog’s name has been traced on from her chip. Her health has also improved.
“Just a little update..her name is Dani and she is doing well.. the Sheriff loves animals and takes cases like this very serious. As far as adopting her, we are working on getting her better right now.. Thank you all for your kind words and support and we’ll keep you updated on her progress and possible adoption information.”
Anyone with information about the dog or its former owner should call the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 513-785-1000.
