No one has chosen Dolly and now she is out of time

At the New York City Animal Care Center in Manhattan, Dolly is out of time today. No one has chosen her. On May 5, the five-year-old sweet, friendly and sociable dog was found as a stray. On June 17, she experienced a seizure; from there she was sentenced to die.

“A little black orchid found in a forest rather than a florist shop,” a volunteer wrote. “What Dolly’s life was like before arriving at the care center? We will likely never know. Well, what’s really important now is to find her a new home and a loving family…”

Dolly loves to play and does not guard her play balls, toys or her food. She likes being with other dogs and is a greeter in playgroups. She does pull on her leash, but nothing a harness can’t correct.

“She came out of isolation and is healthy in that way. Seizures can be treated. She is very worthwhile gal to give a chance and I so hope that she will leave the care center for a life of fun and love with a new family!”

Picture this 50-pound pup jumping while playing, wagging her tail for more fun to come and waiting patiently to be loved and taught new things to enhance her life as a fine canine citizen.

“Hello, my name is Dolly. My animal id is #62409. I am a female charcoal dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years 1 months 1 weeks old.
Weight: 51 lbs”

  1. Please help! I could sponsor Dolly indefinitely until she is rescued or adopted, but I am not on Facebook to contact the shelter. Would someone please relay my contact info to them? Thank you very much.

  2. Just wanted to ad–I had a pet that had seizures–FOR 35 YEARS! He was loveable, happy, an inspiration to the entire family and died peacefully of old age!

    Please give Dolly a chance!
